Latteria Soresina relies on Brivio & Viganò
Latteria Soresina is a cooperative organization founded in 1900 with the aim of creating a strong bond between farmers and milk producers. Today, it consists of over 200 member companies and is a leader in the market for a wide range of dairy products. Between 2022 and 2023, Latteria Soresina decided to invest further in dynamic sales, an evolution of traditional route sales. Customers (restaurants, bars, shops) can now purchase directly from their place of business what is necessary for their operations and schedule a meeting with the salesperson for the next van round. For this reason, the company from Cremona decided to move its warehouse from Peschiera to Pieve Emanuele, investing in a facility with a stronger focus on logistics and distribution rather than production. Brivio & Viganò supported the client throughout all phases of the project, starting from the search for the most suitable property, which ultimately led to the choice of the Pieve Emanuele warehouse. By working hand in hand, the cooperative (CONAST) and the logistics operator (Brivio & Viganò) were able to design a solution that met not only the client’s needs but also their own, based on their respective expertise in the field.
In August 2022, Latteria Soresina vacated the old warehouse and asked Brivio & Viganò to find a solution by no later than May 2023. Although the Pieve warehouse did not have ready-made structures (the area previously used for the client was dedicated to dry food storage), structural work began in January 2023. The interventions mainly focused on the refrigeration cell and the van area, which needed to be paved and equipped with electric charging stations. Once the construction phase was completed, the focus shifted to the transfer of personnel and the switch of IT systems. By the first weekend of May 2023, the facility was fully operational. All of this was made possible thanks to the excellent teamwork carried out by the three parties involved.
The solution provided is a 2,600-square-meter refrigeration cell with a temperature range of 2/4°C, equipped with 15 covered loading docks. It employs 150 people who serve 7,200 delivery points using 92 vans.
